Hira Textile Mills Faces Imminent Suspension as PSX Regulations Deadline Nears

Karachi: Hira Textile Mills Limited, a company listed on the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), is on the verge of suspension due to its repeated non-compliance with crucial regulatory requirements. The company has failed to convene its Annual General Meeting (AGM) and transmit its Annual Audited Financial Statements for two consecutive years, with the latest deadline set for October 28, 2026.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), Hira Textile Mills Limited (HIRAT) was previously issued a Risk Warning Alert on May 12, 2026, following its initial failure to meet these obligations for the year ended June 30, 2025. The PSX Notice No. PSX/N-578 highlighted the company's ongoing non-compliance, emphasizing the necessity for HIRAT to rectify its shortcomings to avoid further regulatory actions.

The specific PSX regulations in question, 5.11.1.(b) and (c), stipulate that a listed company must hold its AGM/Annual Review Meeting and submit its annual audited financial statements as per legal requirements. Failure to do so for two consecutive years mandates the suspension of trading in the company's shares. HIRAT now faces this consequence unless it complies by the end of the month.

Should Hira Textile Mills Limited manage to hold its overdue AGMs and submit the required financial documents within the stipulated timeframe, it would rectify the current non-compliances under PSX Regulations 5.11.1.(b) and (c). However, the company will continue to be listed on the 'Non-Compliant Segment' due to other regulatory breaches under sections 5.11.1.(d) and (g). This ongoing situation places HIRAT in a precarious position in the market, highlighting the importance of adherence to regulatory standards for listed entities.
