Karachi: Hoechst Pakistan Limited, previously known as Sanofi-Aventis Pakistan Limited, has announced its financial results for the half year ending June 30, 2025. During a board meeting held on August 13, 2025, the company approved its unaudited condensed interim financial statements and declared a substantial interim cash dividend for its shareholders.
The company's board of directors has recommended an interim cash dividend of Rs. 50.00 per share, equivalent to 500% of the face value, for the half year. However, no bonus or right shares, nor any other corporate actions or price-sensitive information, were announced. The dividend will be distributed to shareholders listed on the Register of Members as of August 25, 2025.
For the first half of 2025, Hoechst Pakistan Limited recorded a net revenue from contracts with customers of 16.28 billion rupees, marking a significant increase compared to the 13.33 billion rupees reported for the same period in 2024. The cost of sales amounted to 10.69 billion rupees, resulting in a gross profit of 5.62 billion rupees, which reflects a big move compared to the previous year's figure of 3.78 billion rupees.
Operating profit for the period also exhibited a big move, reaching 2.40 billion rupees, up from 1.68 billion rupees in the first half of 2024. The profit before income tax was calculated at 2.35 billion rupees, while profit for the period stood at 1.34 billion rupees, representing another big move from the 826 million rupees recorded last year.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the company's earnings per share have increased significantly, registering at Rs. 139.34 for the half year, compared to Rs. 85.64 during the corresponding period of the previous year.
In terms of expenditures, distribution and marketing costs rose to 2.27 billion rupees, and administrative expenses slightly decreased to 511.95 million rupees. Finance costs for the period were reported at 58.17 million rupees.
The share transfer books of Hoechst Pakistan Limited will be closed for transfers from August 26, 2025, to August 27, 2025. Transfers received by the close of business on August 25, 2025, will be eligible for the dividend payout, the company stated.
