Hub Power Company Announces Project Completion of Major Thar Energy Ventures

Karachi: The Hub Power Company Ltd has officially announced the project completion of two significant power plants under its management, marking a pivotal moment for its operations in Thar, Pakistan. According to a company disclosure dated November 3, 2025, the lenders for Thar Energy Limited (TEL) and ThalNova Power Thar (Private) Limited (TN) have confirmed the “Project Completion Date” (PCD) for these coal-fired independent power producers (IPPs) as October 31, 2025.

These projects, each with a capacity of 330 megawatts, are vital components of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor, receiving recognition as priority projects. TEL achieved its Commercial Operations Date on October 1, 2022, while TN followed on February 17, 2023. The Hub Power Company Ltd holds a direct 60% share in TEL and an indirect 38.3% share in TN through its wholly owned subsidiary, Hub Power Holdings Limited.

The completion is of significant importance as it enables both TEL and TN to potentially distribute dividends to shareholders, contingent on distributable profits and the completion of procedural approvals. According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), this development underscores Hubco’s dedication to maximizing shareholder value and upholding their interests.
