Indus Motor Temporarily Halts Production Amid Supply Shortages

Karachi: Indus Motor Company Limited has announced a temporary suspension of its production plant operations from October 29, 2024, to October 31, 2024, due to severe shortages in raw materials and ongoing supply chain issues. According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the company faces significant disruptions in obtaining the necessary parts and components for vehicle production.

This operational halt is in compliance with Section 96 and 131 of the Securities Act 2015, and Clause 5.6.1(a) of the PSX Regulations, aiming to manage the insufficient inventory levels that currently hinder the company’s ability to meet production demands. The temporary closure affects all production activities, indicating a critical challenge in the supply logistics that the company relies upon for its manufacturing processes.

Indus Motor has communicated this development to the TRE Certificate holders of the Exchange to ensure transparency and maintain regulatory compliance amidst these operational challenges. The company is actively working to address these supply chain disruptions and hopes to resume normal operations promptly after the stated period.
