Jahangir Siddiqui and Co. Reports Mixed Financial Results for Nine Months of 2024


Karachi: Jahangir Siddiqui and Co. Ltd. has disclosed its financial results for the nine-month period ending September 30, 2024, showing varied performance in earnings and comprehensive income. The unaudited financial statement reveals some fluctuations in key financial metrics.



The company recorded a net income from continuing operations of 12,667.49 million rupees after taxes, with basic and diluted earnings per share standing at 7.36 rupees and 6.36 rupees respectively, reflecting steady performance compared to the previous year. According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), these figures represent significant financial movements within the period.



In terms of revenue, Jahangir Siddiqui and Co. saw its income reach 182,591.36 million rupees from continuing operations, with substantial earnings from investments which brought in 107,226.76 million rupees. The company also faced considerable expenditures totaling 167,369.63 million rupees, largely due to administrative and other operating costs.



The financial statements further highlighted a loss of 56.52 million rupees from discontinued operations, showing a challenging scenario for those business segments. This contributed to a consolidated profit after taxation of 12,667.49 million rupees.



Other comprehensive income experienced a loss of 56.52 million rupees due to a decline in the fair value of investments over the period. Total comprehensive income for the period stood at 15,565.67 million rupees.
