JS Global Capital Sees Decline in Net Assets Amid Financial Results Announcement

Karachi: JS Global Capital Limited, acting as the management company of JS Global Banking Sector Exchange Traded Fund, has disclosed its financial outcomes for the half year ending June 30, 2026. The Board of Directors convened on August 13, 2026, at the firm's Karachi headquarters to review and approve the un-audited financial statements of the Fund. The meeting concluded with the decision not to declare any cash dividend, bonus shares, right shares, or any other entitlements or corporate actions.

The condensed interim statement of assets and liabilities indicated a significant increase in total assets, which rose to 378.01 million rupees from 273.53 million rupees as audited at the end of December 2025. The investments segment saw a notable rise, increasing to 348.94 million rupees from 263.23 million rupees previously. However, liabilities also increased, reaching 9.44 million rupees from 4.22 million rupees, which affected the net assets, now standing at 368.57 million rupees, compared to 269.31 million rupees at the end of 2025.

The total number of units issued grew to 9,120,000 from 5,970,000, but the net asset value per unit decreased to 40.4132 rupees from 45.1111 rupees, reflecting a moderate move.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the company's income from bank deposits and dividend income saw an upward trend, with the latter reaching 17.83 million rupees for the half year, up from 6.61 million rupees during the same period in 2025. Yet, the net unrealized loss on investments classified as "fair value through profit or loss" amounted to 30.12 million rupees, contrasting with a gain of 3.69 million rupees reported a year earlier.

The total income for the half year was reported at 9.53 million rupees, significantly lower than the 28.56 million rupees recorded in the first half of 2025. Expenses escalated as well, reaching 2.34 million rupees from 1.32 million rupees last year, impacting the net gain from operating activities, which was reduced to 7.19 million rupees from 27.24 million rupees.

The half year concluded with JS Global Capital Limited reporting a net loss of 1.27 million rupees, a stark contrast to the net income of 35.09 million rupees achieved in the corresponding period of 2025. Despite the losses, the management remains focused on stabilizing the fund's performance amidst market volatilities in the designated market category.
