Islamabad: Khyber Tobacco Company Limited (KHTC) has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with KT&G Corporation from the Republic of Korea, aiming to acquire a royalty license for the cigarette brand "Pine Passion Sky." This development was officially disclosed on July 6, 2026.
The MoU represents the initial step in a strategic collaboration between the two entities, with plans for KHTC to manufacture and/or market the "Pine Passion Sky" brand within Pakistan and potentially in other mutually agreed territories. The progression to a formal agreement will require the execution of definitive contracts, regulatory approvals, and the fulfillment of standard commercial conditions.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the announcement underscores KHTC's optimism about the prospective benefits of this partnership. The company anticipates that the collaboration could bolster its product portfolio, enhance its competitive standing, and foster future business expansion.
KHTC has committed to providing further disclosures in line with legal and regulatory requirements as the definitive agreements are executed or if any significant developments occur. The upcoming formal agreement will be promptly announced on the PSX's PUCARS platform.
