Kohat Textile Mills Reports Growth in Quarterly Profits

Karachi: Kohat Textile Mills Limited announced an increase in profits for the quarter ending September 30, 2024, showing robust growth despite economic challenges. The company disclosed these results in its latest earnings report which reflects a strong performance in its operational metrics.

The textile firm recorded net sales of 1.93 billion rupees for the July to September 2024 period, up from 1.63 billion rupees during the same quarter last year. This represents an increase in sales revenue, which is a positive indicator of the company’s growth trajectory. According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the cost of sales for the quarter stood at 1.32 billion rupees, resulting in a gross profit of 308.92 million rupees compared to 243.04 million rupees in the prior year.

Administrative expenses and distribution costs were reported at 43.76 million rupees and 22.99 million rupees, respectively. Despite these costs, the company's operational efficiency is evident from its increased profit from operations which amounted to 243.04 million rupees.

Kohat Textile Mills faced a finance cost of 139.03 million rupees during the quarter, impacting its profit before taxation, which reached 104.01 million rupees. After accounting for minimum tax levies and taxation expenses, the profit after taxation was reported at 79.09 million rupees. This marks a significant improvement from the 63.67 million rupees recorded during the same quarter of the previous year.

The company's earnings per share also saw an increase, rising from 3.06 rupees to 3.80 rupees. This financial metric provides a clear view of the firm’s profitability from a shareholder perspective.
