Kohinoor Energy Enters MOU with Juhang for Lithium-Ion Battery Venture

Lahore: Kohinoor Energy Limited (KEL) announced on October 1, 2026, that it has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Hebei Juhang Energy Technology Group Co., Ltd., a company based in the People's Republic of China. This strategic move is aimed at exploring the feasibility of a joint venture in Pakistan focused on the assembly, manufacturing, marketing, and sale of lithium-ion battery packs, battery energy storage systems, related products, and associated electrical equipment.

The proposed project is structured in phases, with the initial annual capacity planned at approximately 50-100 MWh. Subject to market demand, business performance, and certain other conditions, there is potential for expansion to approximately 300-500 MWh, and subsequently, to approximately 700-1,000 MWh.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), this MOU is currently non-binding. The transactions contemplated within the agreement will undergo further evaluation and due diligence. They will also require applicable approvals and definitive agreements before any concrete steps are taken.

KEL has committed to keeping the PSX informed of any material developments in line with applicable law and the rules of the PSX. This announcement comes under the purview of Sections 96 and 131 of the Securities Act, 2015 and Clause 5.6.1(a) of the PSX Rule Book, emphasizing transparency and regulatory compliance in the market.
