Karachi: Kot Addu Power Company Limited has emerged as the lowest bidder for a significant solar project proposed by K-Electric, to be established at Deh Metha Ghar in Sindh, with a capacity of 150 megawatts. The company submitted a competitive bid with a proposed tariff of 9.8319 PKR per kilowatt-hour, equivalent to 3.4061 cents per kilowatt-hour, based on a reference exchange rate of USD/PKR 288.65.

The bidding process was conducted under the regulations set by the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA), specifically the Electric Power Procurement Regulations of 2022. While Kot Addu Power Company's bid is the lowest, the formal award of the project remains contingent upon NEPRA's approval. This approval will be informed by the Report of Auction and Evaluation Committee from K-Electric.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the company's successful bid marks a significant step in advancing the proposed project. The final decision awaits regulatory scrutiny, which will determine the initiation of the solar project aimed at enhancing energy production capabilities in the region.
