Karachi: Lucky Cement Limited has announced the successful completion of a significant Process Optimization and Capacity Enhancement Project at its Karachi Plant. This development, dated July 1, 2026, is in compliance with Sections 96 and 131 of the Securities Act, 2015, and Regulation 5.6.1 of the PSX Regulations.
The project, aimed at optimizing and modernizing the existing cement lines, has increased the annual cement production capacity of the Karachi Plant by approximately 300,000 tons, elevating it from 5,050,000 tons to 5,350,000 tons per annum. Consequently, Lucky Cement's total annual cement production capacity has now reached 15,600,000 tons. This reinforces the company's position as the largest cement manufacturer in Pakistan.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the enhancement project reflects Lucky Cement's commitment to operational excellence and sustainable growth. The improvements in process efficiency and technological upgrades are expected to enhance thermal efficiency, reduce specific fuel consumption, and decrease coal usage per ton of cement produced. These efficiencies are anticipated to lower the carbon intensity of the company's operations and improve resource utilization.
The completion of this project aligns with Lucky Cement's long-term goals of introducing innovative and efficient manufacturing processes, creating sustainable value for shareholders, and contributing to Pakistan's industrial development and sustainability objectives.
