Mandviwala Mauser Plastic Industries Granted AGM Extension by SECP

Islamabad: The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) has approved an extension for Mandviwala Mauser Plastic Industries Limited to hold its Annual General Meeting (AGM) and present its financial statements for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2024. The Karachi-based company now has until November 27, 2024, to convene its AGM, a postponement from the standard regulatory timeline.

This extension, issued under Section 132 in conjunction with Section 223 of the Companies Act, 2017, allows Mandviwala Mauser additional time to finalize and lay forth its financial statements for shareholder scrutiny. The decision came after the company formally applied for more time to comply with these sections, citing reasons not disclosed in the SECP notification.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), such extensions are not uncommon and are typically granted to ensure that companies meet compliance requirements adequately while preparing detailed financial disclosures.

The SECP has emphasized the importance of adherence to statutory timelines and compliance with all provisions of the Companies Act in its correspondence with Mandviwala Mauser. This oversight is part of SECP's broader mandate to ensure transparency and proper governance in the corporate sector of Pakistan.
