Lahore: Maqbool Textile Mills Limited has received approval for a thirty-day extension to hold its Annual General Meeting (AGM) and to submit its annual accounts, according to a recent communication from the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP). This extension also includes an additional thirty days for the submission and circulation of quarterly accounts for the first quarter ending September 30, 2024.
The company's request, submitted on September 13, 2024, sought more time to fulfill the regulatory requirements for the 2024 AGM and the accompanying financial disclosures. According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the SECP has exercised its powers under section 132 in conjunction with section 223 and section 237 of the Companies Act, 2017, to grant the requested extensions.
The decision is in line with the regulatory framework that allows companies to manage their financial reporting timelines more effectively, particularly in light of operational challenges that may arise during the fiscal year. This move provides Maqbool Textile Mills the necessary time to ensure accurate and comprehensive financial reporting, which is essential for stakeholders and investors.
Maqbool Textile Mills is now expected to convene its AGM within the extended period and provide the requisite financial documentation to its shareholders and the public, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
