Lahore: Masood Textile Mills Limited has announced a significant transaction involving the partial divestment of its shares. According to a report dated August 4, 2026, Shanghai Challenge Textile Co., Ltd. and Zhejiang Xinao Industry Company Ltd., current shareholders of Masood Textile Mills, have formalized an agreement with Velora Global Ventures - F.Z.C. for the future purchase of shares over the next three years.

The agreement details the sale of 17,396,833 ordinary shares, representing approximately 25.77% of the company's issued and paid-up share capital. Under this arrangement, Velora Global Ventures - F.Z.C. will acquire 7.00% of the issued and paid-up share capital from the current shareholding of 25.77%. The transfer will occur in eleven equal quarterly installments, contingent upon the fulfillment of agreed contractual terms and compliance with all pertinent legal and regulatory mandates in Pakistan.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the divestment forms part of a strategic realignment by the sellers, Shanghai Challenge Textile Co., Ltd. and Zhejiang Xinao Industry Company Ltd., aiming to adjust their investment portfolio in the textile sector. The transaction is structured to ensure regulatory compliance and transparency, adhering to Section 96 of the Securities Act 2015 and Clause 5.6.1 (a) of PSX Regulations.

This move, while significant, is presented to the company purely as a notification of the proposed transaction, with no requirement for approval or consent from Masood Textile Mills Limited. The structured divestment underscores the evolving dynamics within the textile industry, as stakeholders adjust their strategies in response to market conditions.
