MCB Bank Limited Announces Financial Results for 2024, Proposes Final Cash Dividend

Lahore: MCB Bank Limited's Board of Directors convened on February 06, 2025, to discuss and announce the financial results for the year ending December 31, 2024. The meeting, held at MCB House in Lahore and via Zoom, concluded with a proposal for a final cash dividend of PKR 9.00 per share, an addition to the interim dividends already disbursed at PKR 27.00 per share. The Annual General Meeting is set to take place on March 27, 2025, in Lahore.

According to the financial statements, MCB Bank Limited reported total assets amounting to 2.70 trillion PKR, an increase from the previous year's 2.43 trillion PKR. The bank's investments stood at 1.17 trillion PKR, showcasing a slight decrease from 1.25 trillion PKR in 2023. Advances saw a significant rise to 1.04 trillion PKR, compared to 577.86 billion PKR the previous year.

Total liabilities for the bank reached 2.43 trillion PKR, up from 2.20 trillion PKR in 2023. The rise in liabilities is largely attributed to increased deposits and other accounts, which amounted to 1.92 trillion PKR, compared to 1.81 trillion PKR in the previous year. The net assets of the bank stood at 270.26 billion PKR, a notable increase from 230.71 billion PKR.

In terms of profitability, MCB Bank Limited reported a profit before taxation of 118.42 billion PKR for 2024, down from 125.24 billion PKR in 2023. The profit after taxation was recorded at 57.61 billion PKR, a decrease from the previous year's 59.63 billion PKR. Basic and diluted earnings per share were reported at 48.62 PKR, compared to 50.32 PKR in 2023.

Total income for the year amounted to 186.53 billion PKR, with non-markup/interest income contributing 37.43 billion PKR. Operating expenses increased to 60.96 billion PKR from 51.84 billion PKR in the previous year, impacting the overall profitability.
