MCB DCF Income Fund Reports a Significant Decrease in Total Assets

Karachi: MCB Investment Management Limited, the management company of MCB DCF Income Fund, has disclosed its financial results for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025. The announcement was made following a board meeting held at the company's head office in Karachi on August 4, 2025.

The financial statements reveal that the total assets of the MCB DCF Income Fund experienced a very large or significant move downwards, dropping from 25.65 billion to 21.12 billion. This decline is primarily attributed to reductions in investments and profits receivable.

Investments, a major component of the fund's assets, showed a big move downwards, decreasing to 17.13 billion from the previous year's 20.13 billion. Bank balances, however, reflected a big move upwards, rising to 3.60 billion from 2.07 billion.

Liabilities saw a very large or significant move downwards, dropping sharply from 9.34 billion to 349.86 million. This decrease was largely due to the reduction in payables against the purchase of investments. Payables to the management company and trustee have also decreased, indicating a minor move downwards.

The net assets of the fund recorded a big move upwards, rising to 20.77 billion from 16.31 billion. The number of units issued increased, leading to a moderate move upwards in the unit holders' fund, which aligns with the net assets figure.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the net asset value per unit saw a minor move upwards, calculated at 109.5304 compared to the previous year's 1090853.

The management has decided not to disclose earnings per unit, citing the impracticability of calculating the weighted average number of units. The company will distribute printed accounts to the members of the exchange as required.

The designated market category for MCB DCF Income Fund remains unchanged as the company continues to manage its assets and liabilities amidst fluctuating market conditions.
