MCB Investment Management Limited Reports Robust Financial Results for H1 2024

Karachi: MCB Investment Management Limited, the management company of Pakistan Income Enhancement Fund, has announced its financial results for the half year ending December 31, 2024. The results were approved by the Board of Directors in a meeting held at the company's head office in Karachi on February 4, 2025. The financial statements reveal substantial growth and a strong financial position, highlighting the company's solid performance in the designated market category.

According to the financial report, the total assets of Pakistan Income Enhancement Fund increased significantly to 22.44 billion, a notable rise from 7.02 billion as of June 30, 2024. This growth was primarily driven by an increase in investments, which surged from 5.90 billion to 20.05 billion. The fund's net assets also saw a remarkable increase, reaching 20.05 billion compared to 5.90 billion at the start of the period.

The income statement reveals that the fund generated a total income of 1.99 billion for the half year ended December 31, 2024, a significant increase from 417.15 million during the same period in 2023. This includes income from government securities amounting to 1.42 billion and a capital gain of 304.59 million. The fund successfully managed its expenses, which totaled 211.67 million for the period, resulting in a net income of 1.77 billion before taxation.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the fund's net income after taxation remained at 1.77 billion, reflecting its efficient tax management. The accounting income available for distribution, excluding capital gains, amounted to 718.81 million, while income relating to capital gains was reported at 198.83 million. The comprehensive income for the period was 917.64 million.

The fund's net asset value per unit improved from 54.93 at the beginning of the period to 61.06 by the end, indicating a strong performance and an increase in investor value. During the period, the fund also witnessed the issuance of 463.96 million units, contributing to the increase in net assets.

Cash flows from operating activities showed a net cash outflow of 8.96 billion, primarily due to increased investments and other operating activities. However, the fund generated a positive net cash flow of 12.38 billion from financing activities, leading to a net increase in cash and cash equivalents of 3.42 billion during the period.
