MCB Investment Management Limited Reports Significant Decline in Alhamra Daily Dividend Fund’s Annual Net Income

Karachi: MCB Investment Management Limited, the management company overseeing the Alhamra Daily Dividend Fund, has released its financial results for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026, indicating a notable decrease in net income. The financial report was approved by the board of directors during their meeting held at the company's head office in Karachi on Tuesday, August 4, 2026.

According to the detailed income statement, the total income for the fund dropped to approximately 261.67 million rupees in 2026, down from 376.05 million rupees recorded in the previous year. This decline is attributed to a decreased profit from savings accounts with banks, which fell to 175.44 million rupees from 183.78 million rupees, and a significant reduction in profits from sukuk certificates, which decreased to 85.97 million rupees from 192.27 million rupees.

Expenses for the management of the fund also saw a decrease, falling to 29.52 million rupees from 42.78 million rupees in the previous year. This reduction in expenses was primarily due to lower management company remuneration, which decreased to 25.67 million rupees from 36.73 million rupees, and a decrease in Sindh sales tax on remuneration, which reduced to 3.85 million rupees from 5.51 million rupees.

The net income for the year before taxation was reported at 232.15 million rupees, a decline from the previous year's 333.28 million rupees. With no taxation applied, the net income for the year after taxation remained unchanged at 232.15 million rupees. The allocation of net income for the year revealed that the income related to capital gains was 267,000 rupees, while income excluding capital gains amounted to 231.88 million rupees.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), this financial performance signifies a very large or significant move, as the net income for the year after taxation saw a considerable decline compared to the previous fiscal year.

These results reflect the challenges and market conditions that MCB Investment Management Limited faced during the fiscal year, affecting the profitability and income distribution of the Alhamra Daily Dividend Fund.
