Meezan Pakistan Exchange Traded Fund Sees Significant NAV Growth in August


Karachi: The Meezan Pakistan Exchange Traded Fund (MP-ETF) reported a Very large or significant move in its net asset value (NAV) for the month of August, marking a substantial increase of 8.94%. The fund’s net assets were recorded at Rs. 0.45 billion as of August 31, 2025. This development comes as part of the fund’s broader investment strategy, which aims to mirror the performance of the Meezan Pakistan Index.



The MP-ETF is a Shariah-compliant Exchange Traded Fund that provides investors with exposure to a portfolio of Shariah-compliant equity securities. These securities are selected based on their market capitalization and traded value, as maintained by Al Meezan. The fund’s cumulative returns have shown consistent performance across various time frames, including a 15.27% return over three months and a 19.93% return over six months.



According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the fund’s fiscal year-to-date return stood at 14.41%, while the one-year return was at 52.38%. Over a three-year period, the fund achieved a cumulative return of 170.73%, highlighting its robust performance in the designated market category.



Compared to its benchmark, the MP-ETF displayed a tracking difference across different periods, with the most notable being a -16.24% difference over three years. The fund’s five-year performance and since-inception cumulative average growth rate (CAGR) were not available. However, the fund reported a CAGR of 20.00%, compared to the benchmark’s 22.46%.
