Lahore: Mughal Energy Limited, in its Directors’ Report to Shareholders, detailed a robust plan for its future operations and financial management, following the Annual General Meeting held on June 30, 2024. According to the report, Mughal Energy, a subsidiary of Mughal Iron and Steel Industries Limited, has positioned itself for a pivotal operational shift with the upcoming commencement of its 36.50 MW captive hybrid power plant. The project, expected to streamline energy costs and enhance production efficiency, is slated for operational launch in the first quarter of 2025.

Financial performance for the year ended June 30, 2024, reflected a consolidated loss, primarily attributed to pre-operational expenses and initial project outlays. Despite these figures, the company expressed strong future profitability as these foundational investments begin to yield returns.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), Mughal Energy's strategic financial maneuvers included a noteworthy issuance of 19.411 million ordinary shares at Rs. 167.74 per share, effectively raising Rs. 324.940 million. This capital influx, earmarked primarily for repaying sponsor's loans and bolstering working capital, underscores a significant push towards solidifying the company’s financial footing.
