Murree Brewery Reports Strong Financial Growth With Significant Asset Increase

Islamabad: Murree Brewery Company Ltd has reported a robust financial performance for the fiscal year ending June 2026, marked by substantial growth in total assets and equity, alongside a reduction in liabilities. This was disclosed during the company's corporate briefing session for FY-26, held on October 22, 2026.

According to the financial overview, Murree Brewery's total assets increased to 26.28 billion PKR, up from 23.30 billion PKR in June 2025, representing a very large or significant move of 12.8%. This growth was attributed to increases in fixed assets, closing inventory, and short-term investments. Concurrently, the company's total liabilities fell to 5.51 billion PKR from 6.06 billion PKR, a decrease of 9.0%, reflecting the impact of a court decision on super tax provisions. Total equity rose to 20.77 billion PKR from 17.24 billion PKR, a very large or significant move of 20.5%, driven by higher profitability and a revaluation surplus.

The statement of profit or loss further highlights that Murree Brewery's net sales increased to 32.00 billion PKR from 28.56 billion PKR, as a result of higher sales volumes and increased prices. Gross profit aligned with these changes, reflecting an increase due to improved margins on the quantities sold. However, finance income saw a decline from 900 million PKR to 790 million PKR due to lower interest rates compared to the previous year. The taxation variance was primarily due to the company's higher profitability this year.

Key financial metrics reveal consistent growth across the board. Profit before tax reached 5.98 billion PKR, up from 5.44 billion PKR, while profit after tax increased to 3.79 billion PKR from 3.26 billion PKR. The earnings per share (EPS) also saw a rise to 137 PKR from 118 PKR, marking a 16% increase.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), Murree Brewery’s return on equity was recorded at 18.3%, slightly lower than the previous year's 19.0%. The cash dividend percentage remained stable at 415%, while the dividend payout ratio fell to 30% from 35%.

Overall, the financial performance indicators reflect Murree Brewery's strengthened balance sheet, characterized by asset growth, increased equity, and reduced liabilities, setting a positive trajectory for future growth.
