National Bank of Pakistan Announces Extraordinary General Meeting Agenda

Karachi: The National Bank of Pakistan has officially announced the agenda for its upcoming Extraordinary General Meeting (EOGM), scheduled to take place on October 22, 2026. According to the notice issued, the meeting will be held at 10:30 A.M. (PST) at the Marquee, Pearl-Continental Hotel in Karachi, with provisions for attendance both in person and electronically.

The EOGM will address several key items of business, both ordinary and special. The ordinary business includes the confirmation of the minutes from the 77th Annual General Meeting, which was held earlier this year on March 30, 2026, in Karachi. Additionally, the meeting will involve the election of a new director from the private shareholders. This election is necessitated by the completion of Mr. Farid Malik’s term as director, and it will be conducted in accordance with Section 159 (1) of The Companies Act, 2017. The newly elected director will serve a term of three years.

The special business items on the agenda are centered around the performance and compensation of the bank’s leadership. The meeting will consider and seek approval for the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of the President & CEO of the National Bank of Pakistan for the year 2026. Furthermore, it will deliberate on the proposed compensation package for the President & CEO, as recommended by the Board of Directors.

In addition to these specific items, the meeting will allow for the transaction of any other business with the Chairman's permission.
