Karachi: The National Clearing Company of Pakistan Limited (NCCPL) has released its quarterly review on the eligibility of securities for the Margin Trading System (MTS), effective from Friday, October 30, 2026. This review, conducted in line with the NCCPL Regulations 2015, specifically clauses 7C.3.2.d and 7C.3.2.e, outlines the securities now approved for MTS and MT (R) transaction margins.
The updated eligibility list features a total of 67 securities, all granted a new contract length of 60 days, except for Crescent Star Insurance Limited and TPL REIT Fund I, which have been given a 30-day contract term. Notable companies on the list include major players across various sectors such as AGP Limited, Adamjee Insurance Company Limited, and Askari Bank Limited.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the inclusion of these securities in the MTS is anticipated to have a significant impact on trading activities. The decision is seen as a move to enhance liquidity and facilitate more efficient trading operations.
The designated market category for these securities spans a broad range of industries including banking, insurance, oil and gas, cement, and telecommunications. Companies such as Habib Bank Limited, Engro Fertilizers Limited, and Pakistan State Oil Company Limited are among those granted the extended margin trading privileges.
The NCCPL's quarterly review is a critical mechanism to ensure that the MTS remains adaptive to market demands, promoting transparency and efficiency within Pakistan's financial markets.
