Karachi: The National Investment Trust Limited (NITL) has released its un-audited condensed income statements for the first half of the financial year ending December 31, 2024, showcasing a robust performance across various funds managed by the company. The announcement was made during the Board of Directors meeting, following the letter referenced NIT/CAD/BOD-3 7012024-251070 dated January 20, 2025.
The comprehensive statement covers multiple funds under the NITL umbrella, including the National Investment (Unit) Trust Fund (NI(U)T Fund), NIT Islamic Equity Fund (NIT.IEF), NIT-Government Bond Fund (NIT-GBF), NIT-Income Fund (NIT.IF), NIT-Money Market Fund (NIT.MMF), NIT-Islamic Income Fund (NIT.IIF), NIT Pakistan Gateway Exchange Traded Fund (NIT-PGETF), NIT-Asset Allocation Fund (NIT.AAF), NIT-Islamic Money Market Fund (NIT.IMMF), and NIT-Social Impact Fund (NIT.SIF).
For the half-year ended December 31, 2024, the National Investment (Unit) Trust Fund reported a total income of 5.68 billion rupees, a notable increase from 4.43 billion rupees in the same period the previous year. The net income for the period after taxation was 4.53 billion rupees, up from 3.63 billion rupees in 2023. The fund saw considerable gains from dividend income and net realized gains on the sale of investments.
The NIT Islamic Equity Fund also experienced a significant boost, with total income rising to 292.86 million rupees from 133.73 million rupees in 2023. The net income for the period reached 235.57 million rupees compared to 87.88 million rupees in the previous year. This growth was driven by marked appreciation in re-measurement of investments classified as financial assets at fair value through profit or loss.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the NIT-Government Bond Fund showed a total income of 244.41 million rupees, although this was a decrease from the previous year's 288.06 million rupees. However, the net income after taxation for this period was reported at 197.45 million rupees.
Meanwhile, the NIT-Income Fund reported total income of 166.34 million rupees, an increase from 136.42 million rupees in the corresponding period of the previous year. The net income after taxation was 150.88 million rupees, showing a positive trajectory in its financial performance.
