Karachi: National Refinery Limited announced on September 24, 2026, that it has signed an Upgrade Agreement with Inter State Gas Systems (Private) Limited. The agreement, part of the Pakistan Oil Refining Policy for Upgradation of Existing / Brownfield Refineries, was designated by the Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division) and aims to modernize refinery infrastructure.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the agreement represents a significant step forward under the amended guidelines of the policy, which were updated in February 2024 and further refined in August 2026. The collaboration is expected to enhance the refinery's operational capabilities.
