Lahore: Shareholders of Nazir Cotton Mills Limited have been informed about the candidates for the upcoming Election of Directors, scheduled to be held on July 27, 2024, at the Extraordinary General Meeting in Lahore.

According to the notice issued under Section 159(4) of The Companies Act, 2017, which will be published in the Nation and Nawai Waqt newspapers on Friday, July 19, 2024, the following candidates have filed their intentions to contest the election: Mr. Muhammad Tayyab, Mr. Farrukh Naseem, Mr. Tariq Javaid, Col. Abdul Qayyum, Mr. Aftab Anwar (Independent Director), Mr. Mujahid Ahmad (Independent Director), and Mrs. Batool Zahra. The independent candidates meet the criteria of independence as defined by the law.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the number of nominees matches the number of director positions set by the board. Consequently, these candidates shall be deemed to have been elected at the upcoming shareholders' meeting, barring any unforeseen changes. Certificate holders of the Exchange have been advised accordingly to reflect these updates in their records.
