Nazir Cotton Mills Ltd Reports Financial Struggles Amid Quarterly Loss

Lahore: Nazir Cotton Mills Ltd has announced its financial results for the quarter ended September 30, 2025, revealing continued financial challenges. In a meeting held on October 24, 2025, at the company's registered office in Lahore, the Board of Directors disclosed that no cash dividends, bonus shares, right shares, or other corporate actions were recommended for the period.

The company's financial statements highlighted a loss after taxation amounting to 2,280,083 rupees for the quarter. This compares to a loss of 5,481,955 rupees in the same period of the previous year, indicating a still challenging financial position. The loss per share stood at 0.10 rupees, compared to 0.24 rupees per share last year.

Despite the financial setback, the company's total assets remained relatively stable at 288.91 million rupees from the previous year's 289.43 million rupees. According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the company's share capital was unchanged at 230 million rupees.

The financial results also revealed a decreased total equity and liabilities of 288.91 million rupees from 289.43 million rupees, with current liabilities increasing to 140.96 million rupees from 139.20 million rupees. This increase was partly driven by a rise in trade and other payables, which climbed to 5.31 million rupees from 3.84 million rupees.

In terms of revenue, the company's sales were reported at 392,015 rupees, with a cost of sales amounting to 252,890 rupees, resulting in a gross loss of 139,125 rupees. Other operating income increased significantly to 355,244 rupees from 148,673 rupees, while administrative and general expenses were reported at 2.35 million rupees, down from 5.77 million rupees last year.

The financial report further detailed the cash flow from operating activities, which showed a net cash generation of 50,286 rupees, with cash and cash equivalents rising to 624,354 rupees from 286,188 rupees at the start of the year.
