Karachi: NBP Fund Management Limited has released its annual report for the NBP Balanced Fund, detailing the financial performance for the year ended June 30, 2026. The report, dated October 1, 2026, highlights a significant increase in net income, driven by diverse income streams and strategic financial management.
The fund's total income for the year surged to 611.90 million rupees from the previous year's 541.11 million rupees. This increase was primarily fueled by net realized gains on the sale of investments, which nearly doubled to 140.88 million rupees from 74.48 million rupees in 2025. Additionally, dividend income rose to 61.33 million rupees from 56.88 million rupees, and interest on savings accounts with banks increased to 55.70 million rupees, up from 44.77 million rupees the previous year.
However, the income on treasury bills showed a notable absence this year, with zero income reported compared to 7.23 million rupees in 2025. A similar absence was observed in the reversal of impairment loss, which previously contributed 8.25 million rupees to the income statement in 2025.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the fund's expenses saw a moderate increase, rising to 66.06 million rupees from 61.33 million rupees in the prior year. Key expenses included remuneration of the management company and the trustee, which amounted to 47.99 million rupees and 2.90 million rupees, respectively.
The net income for the year before taxation rose significantly to 545.83 million rupees from 479.78 million rupees in 2025, marking a very large move. The net income after taxation remained unchanged at 545.83 million rupees due to the absence of taxation for both years.
The allocation of net income for the year revealed that income relating to capital gains accounted for a substantial 484.15 million rupees, up from 416.95 million rupees. In contrast, income excluding capital gains decreased to 42.29 million rupees from the previous year's 59.25 million rupees.
