Karachi: NBP Fund Management Limited's NBP Government Securities Savings Fund has reported a significant decline in its annual income for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026. The fund's total income fell from 1.38 billion rupees in 2025 to 457.88 million rupees in 2026, marking a very large or significant move.
The fund's income on government securities saw a decrease from 1.15 billion rupees in 2025 to 398.15 million rupees in 2026. Additionally, the profit on bank balances also dropped to 73.27 million rupees from the previous year's 91.78 million rupees. Notably, there was a net loss of 4,239,000 rupees on the sale of investments, contrasting sharply with a gain of 99.35 million rupees in 2025.
The unrealised diminution on re-measurement of investments classified as financial assets 'at fair value through profit or loss' resulted in a loss of 9.30 million rupees in 2026, compared to an appreciation of 38.46 million rupees in the prior year. Consequently, the fund's total income experienced a decline from 1.38 billion rupees in 2025 to 457.88 million rupees in 2026.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the NBP Government Securities Savings Fund's total expenses decreased to 68.86 million rupees in 2026 from 124.78 million rupees in 2025. Expenses related to remuneration and taxes for the management company and trustee formed a significant part of these costs.
Despite the reduction in expenses, the net income for the year before taxation fell to 389.02 million rupees in 2026 from 1.25 billion rupees in 2025. The net income figure remained unchanged after taxation, as the fund reported no tax expenses for both years.
The fund's earnings per unit were recorded at 4.13 rupees, while the allocation of net income for the year after taxation stood at 389.02 million rupees. After accounting for income already paid on units redeemed, the remaining net income for allocation was 46.65 million rupees in 2026, compared to 81.77 million rupees in the previous year.
