Karachi: NBP Fund Management Limited has released its annual report for the NBP Money Market Fund, detailing a substantial net income for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026. According to the report dated October 1, 2026, the fund's financial performance highlights a comprehensive income statement that reflects a robust fiscal period.
The NBP Money Market Fund recorded total income of 10.44 billion rupees, primarily driven by income on government securities, which amounted to 5.01 billion rupees. Other significant income sources included income on letters of placement, totaling 2.66 billion rupees, and interest on bank balances, which contributed 2.31 billion rupees. The fund also reported an income of 422.36 million rupees from term deposit receipts and 42.52 million rupees from certificates of investments. The net realized loss on the sale of investments was 533,000 rupees, while the net unrealized appreciation on re-measurement of investments classified as financial assets 'at fair value through profit or loss' stood at 470,000 rupees.
Expenses incurred by the fund during the year amounted to 1.10 billion rupees. Notable expenses included the remuneration of NBP Fund Management Limited, the management company, at 831.10 million rupees, and the associated Sindh sales tax on this remuneration, which was 124.67 million rupees. Additional expenses included remuneration to the Central Depository Company of Pakistan Limited, serving as the trustee, at 52.88 million rupees, and the Sindh sales tax on this remuneration at 7.93 million rupees. The fee to the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan was reported at 72.10 million rupees.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the fund's net income for the year before taxation reached 9.34 billion rupees, with taxation expenses reported as zero. Consequently, the net income for the year after taxation also stood at 9.34 billion rupees. The allocation of this net income included an amount of 7.92 billion rupees already paid on units redeemed, leaving an accounting income available for distribution, excluding capital gains, of 1.43 billion rupees.
