Karachi: Nishat (Chunian) Limited, a prominent player in Pakistan's textile industry, announced its annual financial results for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2024. The company achieved a significant revenue increase of 31%, totaling PKR 88.88 billion, up from PKR 67.63 billion in the previous year.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), Nishat (Chunian) reported a net profit of PKR 691.67 million, reversing a loss from the previous year, highlighting successful cost management and strategic growth initiatives. The company’s gross profit also saw an impressive rise by 66%, reflecting improved margins from PKR 6.59 billion to PKR 10.91 billion.

The comprehensive growth can be attributed to the expansion and efficiency improvements across its spinning, weaving, and home textiles divisions. Notably, the spinning division alone accounted for a revenue of PKR 55.10 billion, which represents a 32.7% increase compared to the prior year. The recovery in cotton production, which surged to 8.4 million bales, helped stabilize raw material costs and supported the company's growth trajectory.

Nishat (Chunian) Limited has also been active in strategic investments, including the acquisition of new machinery and technologies aimed at enhancing production capabilities and efficiency. These investments include three automatic cone winding machines and a new Uster Jossi Vision Shield for the spinning division, as well as significant upgrades in wastewater treatment and caustic recovery in the home textiles division.

The company's performance is a testament to its resilient strategy and operational effectiveness, especially in a challenging economic environment characterized by high interest rates and inflationary pressures. Despite these challenges, the firm has managed to maintain a strong focus on cost control and strategic growth, which is reflected in the recovery and growth of net profits.

Nishat (Chunian) continues to focus on its strategic direction and corporate governance, ensuring compliance with the best practices and regulations that guide the industry. The Board of Directors and management team are committed to sustaining growth and profitability, aiming to further enhance shareholder value and operational efficiency in the coming years.
