Islamabad: The Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has announced the commencement of production from the Spinwam-1 discovery located in the Waziristan Block of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province. This development marks a significant milestone as gas and condensate extraction begins under the Extended Well Testing (EWT) phase. The Spinwam-1 well, completed in the Lockhart reservoir, is currently yielding a gas production rate of 40 million standard cubic feet per day (MMscfd) and 200 barrels per day (BBL/D) of condensate.
With the induction of gas from this well, the early production facilities established at Shewa are set to operate at full capacity. The total combined production from the Shewa and Spinwam wells is projected to reach around 100 MMscfd of gas and 800 barrels per day of condensate.
The joint venture overseeing this project comprises OGDCL with a 35% working interest, Mari Energies Limited, the operator of the Waziristan Block, holding a 55% stake, and Orient Petroleum Inc. with a 10% working interest.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the details of this development have been submitted in compliance with Section 96 of the Securities Act, 2015, and Clause 5.6.1(a) of the PSX Regulations for dissemination among its members. This strategic initiative is anticipated to bolster energy production capacity within the region, reflecting the collaborative efforts of the involved entities in harnessing domestic resources.
