Karachi: Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) announced the receipt of the seventh installment in its ongoing circular debt settlement plan, marking a continued effort to alleviate financial pressures within the energy sector. The payment, amounting to Rs 7.725 billion, represents one of twelve equal monthly installments from Power Holding (Private) Limited (PHL), as part of an interest payment agreement facilitated by the Government of Pakistan.

The payment is part of a total interest amount of Rs 92 billion, which is scheduled to be repaid over a period of twelve months. The installments began in July 2025, with this recent transaction indicating sustained progress in the Government’s strategy to manage and clear circular debt in the energy sector.
