Karachi: Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has officially commenced production at Sanghar. This development follows the company's announcement on August 30, 2024, concerning a significant gas condensate discovery at the site.
The Baloch-2 well has been successfully drilled to a depth of 3,920 meters. According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), it is now yielding 350 barrels of oil per day and 5.00 million standard cubic feet of gas per day. These resources are being processed at the Sinjhoro Processing Plant, with the gas component being supplied to the Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGCL) network.
This project is a joint venture, with OGDCL holding a 76% working interest, Orient Petroleum Inc. possessing 19%, and Government Holdings Private Limited (GHPL) maintaining the remaining 5%. The operation underscores OGDCL's strategic commitment to leveraging in-house expertise for delineating, drilling, and testing geological structures, which plays a crucial role in accelerating the exploration and production activities. These efforts are part of a broader initiative aimed at bolstering national energy security and supporting sustainable development in Pakistan.
The commencement of production at Baloch-2 aligns with compliance requirements of Section 96 of the Securities Act, 2015, and Clause 5.6.1(a) of PSX Regulations, ensuring that all pertinent information is disseminated among members.
