Karachi: Pakistan Engineering Company Limited (PECO) is confronting a Risk Warning Alert (RWA) issued by the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), effective from July 15, 2026, following its failure to clear outstanding penalties. This development is a continuation of PSX's enforcement actions, as documented in several notices since April 2026.
The PSX had earlier highlighted PECO's non-compliance with Regulation 5.11.1.(d) due to unpaid penalties, through notices including PSX/N-427 dated April 15, 2026, and subsequent reminders dated June 18, June 29, and July 07, 2026. The exchange had set deadlines for compliance, which have not been met by PECO.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), companies placed in the Non-Compliant Segment or Winding-Up Segment, like PECO, risk suspension of trading or being delisted if continuous violations persist. The issuance of the RWA mandates PECO to address its non-compliance by October 12, 2026, or face further actions, including a compulsory buy-back directive for the company's sponsors or majority shareholders.
If PECO resolves its outstanding dues within the given timeframe, it will remain listed under the Non-Compliant Segment for other regulatory infractions until all issues are addressed. The PSX's actions underscore the stringent adherence to trading regulations required from listed entities within the designated market category.
