Lahore: Pakistan Engineering Company Ltd. has announced its financial results for the six months ending December 31, 2025, revealing a challenging period marked by substantial losses and an absence of sales. The report, disclosed on August 18, 2026, during a board meeting held both in Lahore and via Zoom, detailed the financial performance and corporate decisions over the half-year period.
For the six months ending December 31, 2025, the company reported no sales, a stark contrast to the 26,695,000 rupees recorded in the same period in 2024. The lack of revenue resulted in a gross loss of 12,472,000 rupees for the previous year, with no comparable figure for the current period due to the absence of sales.
Administrative expenses saw a considerable increase, climbing from 21,020,000 rupees to 27,381,000 rupees, contributing to the overall operating loss of 26,667,000 rupees. Other operating income showed a minor improvement, rising from 1,013,000 rupees to 1,324,000 rupees, yet was insufficient to offset the company’s financial strain.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the company experienced a loss before taxation of 26,670,000 rupees, which is a significant move compared to the loss of 33,461,000 rupees recorded in the same period in 2024. The taxation expense increased to 4,806,000 rupees from the previous 3,565,000 rupees, resulting in a loss after taxation of 31,477,000 rupees.
The basic and diluted loss per share was reported at 5.53 rupees, compared to 6.51 rupees in the previous year, reflecting the financial difficulties faced by the company. Despite the poor results, the board declared no cash, bonus, or right shares, and no other corporate actions or entitlements were announced.
The company’s statement of financial position as of December 31, 2025, showed non-current assets at 39.05 billion rupees and current assets at 236.97 million rupees. The total assets decreased slightly from 39.62 billion rupees in June 2025 to 39.60 billion rupees by the year’s end.
These financial results highlight the challenging conditions faced by Pakistan Engineering Company Ltd., as it navigates through a period of zero sales and significant losses. The company’s management remains tasked with addressing these financial challenges and exploring opportunities for future growth.
