Pakistan General Insurance Company Limited Reports Significant Changes in Financial Performance

Karachi: The Pakistan General Insurance Company Limited has released its financial results for the year ended December 31, 2025, revealing a significant change in its financial performance. The comprehensive income report, dated May 4, 2026, shows substantial figures in various financial categories.

The company’s net insurance premium increased to 135.38 million rupees from 7.54 million rupees in the previous year, marking a very large or significant move. Meanwhile, net insurance claims rose to 15.91 million rupees from 2.95 million rupees, reflecting a similar scale of change.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the firm’s underwriting results improved, showing a positive outcome of 49.72 million rupees compared to a loss of 16.64 million rupees in the previous year. This turnaround is mirrored in the company’s operating activities, where results amounted to 28.37 million rupees, a decrease from 31.59 million rupees, indicating a minor move.

The insurance claims and acquisition expenses totaled 52.01 million rupees, up from 5.79 million rupees. Management expenses were reported at 33.65 million rupees, an increase from 18.40 million rupees. Despite the increase in expenses, the company recorded a profit before levies and taxation of 28.25 million rupees, down from 31.47 million rupees. This reflects a minor move in profitability before tax considerations.

Profit after taxation stood at 28.38 million rupees, a reduction from the previous year’s 31.80 million rupees, illustrating another minor move. The company’s other comprehensive income, including gains from remeasurement of investments and revaluation surplus on property, totaled 18.81 million rupees, down from 34.21 million rupees.

The total comprehensive income for the year was reported at 47.20 million rupees, a decrease from 66.02 million rupees in the previous year, indicating a big move. Basic earnings per share were recorded at 0.57, a slight drop from the prior year’s 0.64.
