Karachi: MCB Investment Management Limited, overseeing the Pakistan Income Enhancement Fund, has disclosed its financial results for the third quarter ending September 30, 2026. The report, presented on October 20, 2026, highlights a decrease in net income compared to the same period in the previous year.
The fund recorded a total income of 69.03 million rupees for the quarter, declining from the previous year's 76.40 million rupees. The revenue streams included 53.19 million rupees from government securities and 12.92 million rupees from Term Finance Certificates. Additionally, there was a noted increase in profit from bank deposits, rising to 20.98 million rupees from 11.60 million rupees in the previous year. However, a capital loss of 10.44 million rupees and an unrealized diminution of 8.73 million rupees in investments negatively impacted the income.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the expenses for the fund also rose, totaling 15.45 million rupees compared to 13.97 million rupees last year. The management company remuneration was 11.45 million rupees, with accompanying sales tax at 1.72 million rupees. Trustee remuneration and related sales tax amounted to 0.57 million rupees and 0.09 million rupees, respectively.
The net income before taxation for the period was 53.58 million rupees, down from 62.44 million rupees in the previous year, classifying the percentage change as a moderate move. After accounting for income already paid on units redeemed, the net income stood at 36.17 million rupees, a significant decrease from last year's 70.46 million rupees.
The fund's report underscores the challenges faced in the current financial landscape, with a notable decrease in income from government securities and other sources contributing to the overall decline in net income for the quarter.
