Karachi: Pakistan International Container Terminal Limited (PICT) has reported a notable downturn in its financial performance for the first nine months ending September 30, 2025, compared to the same period in the previous year. The company’s financial highlights, presented during a corporate briefing session, reveal a substantial decrease across several key metrics, including profit and earnings per share.
According to the financial data, the company maintained a net revenue of Rs 7,500 thousand for the nine months of 2025, identical to the previous year’s figure for the same period. The cost of services also remained unchanged at Rs 6,745 thousand, resulting in a consistent gross profit of Rs 755 thousand year-on-year. However, administrative expenses saw a very large increase of 207.08%, rising from Rs 47,787 thousand in 2024 to Rs 146,744 thousand in 2025.
Other expenses surged by 281.55%, from Rs 13,450 thousand to Rs 51,318 thousand, marking another very large increase. Similarly, other income witnessed a significant decline of 70.24%, falling from Rs 907,438 thousand to Rs 270,052 thousand. Finance costs recorded a minor move with a reduction of 2.33%, from Rs 215 thousand to Rs 210 thousand.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the profit before taxation plummeted by 91.43%, decreasing from Rs 845,986 thousand in 2024 to Rs 72,535 thousand in 2025. Taxation was also reduced by 87.82%, from Rs 172,763 thousand to Rs 21,035 thousand. Consequently, the profit after taxation saw a very large decrease of 92.35%, dropping from Rs 673,223 thousand to Rs 51,500 thousand.
The earnings per share (EPS) experienced a very large decline of 92.38%, decreasing from Rs 6.17 in 2024 to Rs 0.47 in 2025. Additionally, the company did not declare any dividends for the first nine months of 2025, a stark contrast to the Rs 9.10 per share dividend announced in the same period last year, marking a 100% decrease.
