Pakistan National Shipping Corporation Adds Aframax Tanker to Fleet


Karachi: In a move that enhances its maritime capacity, the Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC) announced on January 14, 2026, the successful induction of a new Aframax Tanker into its fleet. This development is part of the corporation’s strategic expansion plan in the shipping industry.



The newly acquired vessel, named M.T Karachi, boasts a deadweight tonnage (DWT) of 109,990 tonnes and is managed by Karachi Shipping (Pvt) Ltd., a subsidiary of PNSC. This addition aligns with the company’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its fleet capabilities, catering to the rising demands of maritime logistics and transportation.



According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the disclosure of this material information complies with Section 96 of the Securities Act, 2015, and Clause 5.6.1(a) of the Rule Book of the Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited. This follows an earlier disclosure made on October 13, 2025, which outlined the corporation’s intent to expand its fleet.
