Karachi: The Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC) has announced that its wholly owned subsidiary companies have signed a Memorandum of Agreement for the acquisition of two Aframax tankers. This transaction is in compliance with Section 96 of the Securities Act, 2015 and Clause 5.6.1 (a) of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) Regulations.
The disclosure was made on October 13, 2025, and details the purchase of two vessels by subsidiaries of the PNSC. Karachi Shipping (Pvt) Ltd., a subsidiary of PNSC, will procure the tanker named LORAX with a deadweight tonnage (DWT) of 109,990. Meanwhile, Lahore Shipping (Pvt) Ltd. will acquire the NAFSIKA, which boasts a DWT of 112,051.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), these acquisitions by the PNSC subsidiaries are part of a strategic move to expand and enhance their shipping capabilities.
