Pakistan Petroleum Limited Cancels Extraordinary General Meeting for 2026

Karachi: Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL), a key player in the energy sector, has announced the cancellation of its Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) originally scheduled for August 31, 2026. The decision was made public on August 11, 2026, as part of regulatory compliance.

According to the company's official statement, the meeting was intended to facilitate the election of directors and was to be held both at the Movenpick Hotel in Karachi and via a video link. However, unforeseen operational exigencies have necessitated this change of plans.

The company emphasized adherence to Rule 5.6.9 of the Pakistan Stock Exchange Rules in its announcement. According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the notice regarding the cancellation will be published in two major newspapers, "The News" and "Jang," on August 12, 2026, ensuring that all shareholders and stakeholders are adequately informed.

Despite the setback, Pakistan Petroleum Limited has assured its shareholders that a new date for the EGM will be communicated in due course. The meeting’s agenda, focused on the election of directors, is critical for ensuring the company’s ongoing governance and strategic direction.
