Karachi: Pakistan Refinery Limited (PRL) has officially refuted recent news reports suggesting an agreement to import Russian crude oil at discounted rates. The company clarified on October 17, 2023, that it has not entered into any agreements or commitments to procure crude oil from Russia.

The company issued a statement emphasizing its commitment to transparency and assured stakeholders that they would be informed of any future developments through official channels. PRL's clarification comes in response to circulating reports that implied the company was engaging with Russian oil producers for discounted crude, a claim PRL has categorically denied.
