Pakistan Stock Exchange Reports Increased Profit for Nine-Month Period Ending March 31, 2025

Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited (PSX) has announced its financial results for the nine-month period ending March 31, 2025, with a notable increase in profit. The announcement was made following a board meeting held on April 28, 2025, where the financial statements were approved.

The PSX reported a profit after taxation of 1.11 billion rupees, an increase from 778.17 million rupees in the corresponding period of the previous year. The basic and diluted earnings per share rose to 1.38 rupees from 0.97 rupees. The revenue for the nine-month period was 1.84 billion rupees, up from 1.60 billion rupees in the previous year.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the income from exchange operations contributed significantly to the revenue, amounting to 1.05 billion rupees, an increase from 736.30 million rupees in the previous year. The listing fee revenue was 569.39 million rupees, slightly down from 577.02 million rupees. Mark-up and interest income decreased to 161.35 million rupees from 212.30 million rupees, while rental income from investment property increased to 58.57 million rupees from 52.61 million rupees.

The operating profit for the nine-month period stood at 239.14 million rupees, compared to 137.61 million rupees in the previous year. Administrative expenses increased to 1.60 billion rupees from 1.46 billion rupees. The profit before income tax was reported at 1.11 billion rupees, up from 762.37 million rupees, while the profit before income tax, minimum, and final tax was 1.26 billion rupees, an increase from 848.85 million rupees.

The PSX's financial results did not include any cash dividend, bonus shares, or right shares for the period. There were no other corporate actions or price-sensitive information reported.
