Pakistan Stock Exchange Sets December 2024 Schedule for Deliverable Future Contracts

Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) has outlined the trading and settlement schedule for Deliverable Future Contracts (DFC) for December 2024. The schedule, released to market participants, highlights key dates for the opening and closing of contracts, with the detailed list of DFC eligible securities provided in Annexure A.

The DFC for December 2024 will commence on Monday, September 30, 2024, and conclude on Friday, December 27, 2024, with the final settlement set for Tuesday, December 31, 2024. According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), this schedule is crucial for investors engaged in futures contracts, providing a structured timeline for their trading activities.

Additionally, specific securities listed under the DFC-DEC-24 category will not be eligible for payment of benefits due to the book closure dates notified by the respective companies. These include major firms such as Attock Refinery Limited, Pioneer Cement Limited, and Pakistan Oilfields Limited, among others. The trading of shares for these companies during December will be on an ex-benefit basis, which is an important consideration for traders.

The PSX has reserved the right to modify these dates or adjust the contract terms if necessary, ensuring flexibility in response to market conditions or regulatory requirements. This planned approach helps facilitate smooth trading and settlement processes for participants in the futures market.
