Pakistan Stock Exchange to Suspend Operations for Eid-ul-Azha Holidays


Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) has announced a temporary closure of its trading activities in observance of the Eid-ul-Azha holidays. According to the notice issued on May 20, 2026, operations at the PSX will be suspended from Tuesday, May 26, 2026, through Thursday, May 28, 2026.



The announcement was addressed to all TRE Certificate Holders, staff, and related parties, informing them of the scheduled holiday period. The exchange, which falls under the designated market category of the Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited, will resume its operations post the holiday period as usual.



According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), this closure is a routine observance during the Eid festivities, allowing market participants to join the nationwide celebrations. The exchange extends Eid greetings in advance to its stakeholders and the broader community, aligning with cultural practices and ensuring minimal disruption to trading activities.



Eid-ul-Azha, one of the major Islamic festivals, involves a range of customs and traditions that necessitate a break in regular activities. The PSX’s decision to close during this period reflects the significance of the holiday in the region. The trading activities are expected to resume on Friday, May 29, 2026, following the three-day closure.
