Karachi: The National Clearing Company of Pakistan Limited (NCCPL) has announced significant changes aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and providing greater flexibility to market participants. These changes, detailed in a report dated August 20, 2026, will be implemented from August 21, 2026, and are expected to streamline several key activities within the trading environment.
According to the newly released information, the NCCPL will now offer the Immediate Delivery and Settlement (IDS) facility on T+0 trades in the regular market. This development is part of a broader initiative to improve the efficiency of trade settlements. The new IDS facility will be available from Monday to Friday, with the initiation of the IDSC by Broker Clearing Members starting at 9:00 AM and ending at 1:15 PM. Custodian Clearing Members and Non-Broker Clearing Members will affirm IDS and IDSI transactions from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM.
Additionally, the NCCPL has revised the timings for the Government Debt Securities (GDS) advance deposit and collection activities associated with primary Sukuk auctions. The revised schedule extends the end time for both GDS advance deposit and collection activities to 3:00 PM. This is a significant change from the previous closing times of 10:45 AM and 11:00 AM, respectively. Clearing Members and Settling Banks, who are responsible for these activities, are expected to benefit from the extended timeframes.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), these amendments are anticipated to facilitate smoother operations in the financial markets, particularly for those involved in the handling of government debt instruments.
Market participants have been advised to take note of these changes and adjust their schedules accordingly. For any further queries or concerns, they are encouraged to contact the NCCPL's Customer Support Department or visit the company's website for more detailed information.
