Premier Insurance Limited Reports Strong Growth in Net Premiums and Investment Income

Karachi: The directors of Premier Insurance Limited have released the unaudited condensed interim financial statements for the three-month period ending March 31, 2026, highlighting a robust performance across several financial metrics. Presented on May 4, 2026, the report outlines increases in both conventional and takaful segments, despite challenges in the insurance market.

In the conventional insurance segment, the gross written premium during the period was Rs. 63.28 million, showing a minor move up from Rs. 61.92 million in 2025. Net premium witnessed a moderate move, reaching Rs. 65.76 million compared to Rs. 64.11 million the previous year. The underwriting result more than doubled, marking Rs. 10.63 million up from Rs. 5.52 million. A very large move was noted in investment income, which surged to Rs. 89.98 million from Rs. 38.63 million, contributing to a profit before taxation of Rs. 94.48 million, a significant move from Rs. 22.72 million last year.

The takaful segment experienced a decline in gross contribution, registering Rs. 71.15 million against Rs. 99.67 million the prior year. However, net contribution rose to Rs. 42.37 million from Rs. 31.53 million, showcasing a very large move. The takaful claims ratio also improved, dropping to 42.58% from 64.22%.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), these financial results reflect the company’s strategic efforts to manage operational costs and enhance revenue streams amidst a competitive insurance sector.

Premier Insurance reported a profit after taxation of Rs. 94,754, an increase from Rs. 22,202, with earnings per share rising to Rs. 1.87 from Rs. 0.44. The net loss ratio on earned premium was slightly down to 27.66% from 27.89%.
