Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) has announced adjustments to the trading and settlement schedules of deliverable future contracts (DFC) for Engro Fertilizers Limited, Habib Bank Limited (HBL), and Bank Alfalah Limited. These changes, affecting the contracts for October, November, and December 2024, are in response to the newly announced book closure dates for these companies.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the modifications are intended to accommodate the respective book closures and facilitate smoother transaction flows on the exchange.
For Engro Fertilizers Limited, the adjustment sees the October contract (EFERT-OCTB) now concluding on October 23, 2024, moved up from the previously set date of October 25. Similarly, for Bank Alfalah Limited, the revised schedule has the November futures contract closing on October 25, 2024, with settlement following on October 29, 2024.
Habib Bank Limited will maintain the original schedule for its November and December futures but has adjusted the dates for contracts without entitlement benefits. This adjustment across multiple major companies underscores the importance of aligning the futures market with corporate schedules to avoid trading disruptions.
These schedule revisions are detailed in a series of PSX notifications, ensuring that all market participants are well-informed of the critical dates necessary for effective trading strategy planning. The PSX continues to update and guide traders through these adjustments to uphold a stable trading environment.
