Karachi: Revised trading and settlement schedules for the Deliverable Future Contracts (DFC) of September and October 2024 have been announced by the Pakistan Stock Exchange. The adjustments were made following the announcement of the book closure date for Engro Corporation Limited and Soneri Bank Limited. This change impacts the trading of DFC-SEP-2024 and DFC-OCT-2024, previously set by notifications PSX/N-607 and PSX/N-724.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the revised schedule includes cum-benefit and ex-benefit trading periods for both contracts. The Engro Corporation Limited and Soneri Bank Limited stocks will follow a specific timeline, with significant dates being the opening, closing, and settlement of each contract.
For cum-benefit contracts, the SEP contract will open on July 1, 2024, and close on August 30, 2024, with the settlement scheduled for September 3, 2024. The OCT contract follows a similar schedule. Conversely, the ex-benefit contracts, designated as SEPB and OCTB, will begin trading on August 26, 2024. The SEPB contract will close on September 27, 2024, with a settlement on October 1, 2024, while the OCTB contract will close on October 25, 2024, and settle by October 29, 2024.
PSX notes that it retains the right to modify these dates or adjust the duration of the contracts if necessary. Furthermore, trades of the mentioned securities during the SEPB and OCTB contract periods will not be eligible for benefit payments and will be conducted on an ex-benefit basis. A rollover period for these securities is set for five trading days, from August 26, 2024, to August 30, 2024.
